Advice for international students

We have explained about lot of things that will help international students. This time we are giving some advice. When new students arrive in the Canada, they have several types of problem but the most irritating is to adjust themselves here. They have to face a new society and different kind of people. Making friends is difficult and without them, they started feeling homesickness. Friends plays a vital role in a student's life because they don't have family in Canada. For understanding Canada's life, they have to change their nature.  There will be days when they feel like going out after studies or work, having a chat, sharing their day, not over skype or emails, but in person.

Maintaining the most important old relationship is necessary, but at the same time finding some friends at the place they just moved to, are crucial keys. Fortunately many people are interested in new friends, just like they are. In Canada, mostly people don't initiate the conversation but they have friendly nature. There are numerous placed where students can go to look for any new friend like"

  • Students can check out the social media platforms to check who are landed just like them and start a conversation.
  • They can participate in public presentation organized by local universities and training centres.
  • When students go to a new sport class or gym first time, they can ask some other attendees how it works at that place and which activities they could recommend.
  • In colleges, mostly projects are done in groups, so students can  take advantage of that and get familiarize with them.
  • People also organize their party and invite their college friends.
Canada is multicultural country and people finds lot of diversity here and it gives an understanding of nearly all culture. Students should respect each others cultures and lifestyle to be successful in Canada.

Think before taking decision

Students who are coming from the different parts of the world have lots of questions about the Canada, its culture, tradition, rules and regulations and many more things. As we already discussed in our previous blogs about the major problems that are faced by almost all International students when they first arrive in Canada as well as their perfect solutions to tackle with those problems. Is it possible that, if students know all the problems before their plan to come to Canada change their decision about leave their home country and came to the hard life of Canada where they need to carry lots of responsibilities, duties and struggles. We met with many International students and ask them lots of questions about their lifestyle in their home country and lifestyle in this country and found that they struggle allot in this country but still they satisfied due to the facilities available here. Students who are coming to settle here, are ready to face any kind of difficulty but the students who want to get only International exposure may not wish to left their home country by knowing all these problems and difficulties. So our team highly recommends those students who are planning to come to Canada, that they should think hundreds times about this decision as this is a major decision about their life. And the decision made by them not only have a impact on the students life but also it impact on their parents life as well. So read our all the blogs which certainly helps you to make the right decision.

Things you can do after study in Canada

Hello readers, until now, we were told you about the important things that you should know while studying in Canada. But you should start planning the things in one or two semester before the study ends. Everyone has different plans of future but as an international student, you have to take it more seriously than others. Most of them started liking Canada and made plans to settle here and for that, they have to choose a good province for them so, they move somewhere because every province have several different rules of PR for international students.
Tips before you move anywhere are:

  • If you have selected a province where chances of job related to your field of study are high, then it is not the end of worries. Moving to a  new place bring lot of tensions with it.
  • If you have a relative a there, then it will be a sense of relief but still you have to find a job there.
  • If you know no one there, then it the better to find an apartment for rent online through various websites such as kjiji. rooms4rent etc.
  • You should carry enough supporting money with you for first 1 or 2nd month, in case you doesn't get a job there.
There are several students that finds hard to get a job or a good province. But they have always take a help from lawyer who will get things done for you. Sometimes, these lawyers appears to be fraud and and it is always good to go by a reference because the fees for that process is quite high.

Ways of Permanent Residency in Canada

Students who are coming from the overseas country in Canada, there are basically two possibilities of coming to this country for study.
1) To get the International exposure and the gain the well advanced techniques from here and go back to their own country and implement the knowledge there.

2) To get the Permanent Residency here and wish to settle in this country here.

During our survey, we met with many International students who came from different part of the world and analyze that almost 90% of them want to settle here. We also ask the reason for leaving their home country forever, and we have found that they don't like the economic stability, infrastructure, government regulations and many more thing in their home country. And when the came to Canada and live for 5-6 months, they found that it is the best country in the world and planning for and searching sources to get the Permanent Residency of this country while they are in their last semester of their program. But it is very important for them to follow the rules and regulations, never being misguided by the other people who only want to use you for personal benefits, prevents yourself to being trap by the illegal thing as we already mention in our last blog. If you really want to get the PR, you have to do good deeds.
As to get the PR is not as big issue as it seems. But only thing to achieve it, only by making efforts and by doing hard work with full of honesty and integrity.

And the students who came here to get the International exposure are also advised that, they should use their knowledge for the welfare of the society and never misuse the thing which they already gain from here.

Things that needs to be taken care off in Canada

Hello readers, we are back with some important information for international students. There are certain things in Canada that needs to be taken off before coming or after arrived.

1) Working- Working as student is very common thing and almost every student does that, as we also mention this in our last post. But, you should be aware of all the documents you guys need for working. As you are international students, several laws applies to you for working.

2) SIN - Social Insurance Number is compulsory for students to work in any part of Canada and working without it illegal and you can face the circumstances of  DEPORTATION! Only 20 hours per week, working, is allowed. So, don't go beyond that.

3) Misleading persons- There are several people, who may mislead you for their benefit. They can give you lot of alternatives to make money illegally, but never believe on them. Those type of people are just looking for new students. Always take suggestion from an advisor in college, which is free of cost.

4) College services and health- Always be informed about the whole bunch of services colleges are providing. You have several benefits from college including a medical insurance which allows you to get a free consultations from clinics. As we all heard, heath is wealth but in Canada it is totally true. You have to care yourself because no one is there for you.

5) Time management - Time is money and world runs on money. If you are successful in managing time here then your path of success is easier than others. Being a student, things are way much different and time consuming so, it's better to plan things.

Jobs for International Students

When students came to Canada from different country, they should know, that they have to carry lots of responsibilities and problems with them. As we already mention, they have to be very serious about their studies as their main objective to come to this country is only to study well and achieve good grades. Apart from this, to do a part time job with the studies is also very important for the international students to cover their living expenses. If the international student belongs to rich background, then they can survive easily and make lots of fun here. But the students who belongs to lower or middle income income families and whose parents send them either by taking loans or by selling their personal assets, its very hard for them to survive easily as they were in their home country. After arriving 1-2 months in this country, students should start finding part time jobs for them so that they can easily cover their living expenses and buy something which they like, so that they would not to be depend on their parents at least for their living expenses. But International students are always face difficulty to find a job because they don't have any connection with the employer and some students even don't know the employment system of this country. So its better for them to make links with other students who are familiar with the country system and persuade them to find a job.Apart from the study and living expenses, students should know that tuition fees of the Canadian colleges is very high as compared to domestic students. They should always keep in mind that, they have the responsibility to pay the fees of the upcoming semesters.

We are not encourage students to work full time or day and night to cover their full fees as well. They should always keep in mind the study they are pursuing, whether are performance is well or not. Some students feel that, the program they are pursuing is much easier as compared to their home country, due to this reason they worked more as compared to other students. But they should know that, they have to spend their money wisely or carefully. And to earn money is not at all easy whether in Canada or any other part of the world.

Good grades is important for international students

Hello guys, it’s very easy to take admission in any college in Canada but the real problem starts when you arrive and start taking classes. There are lot of things that are different here, in Canadian colleges, which makes it tough, but if you know about it then it is one of the easiest things. Several things that needs to be remember are:

1) Plagiarism: It is presenting someone else’s ides or work as your own with or without their consent, by incorporating into their work without full acknowledgement. This could be material copied word to word from journals, books, internet sites, professor’s course notes, etc. It could be material that is paraphrased but closely resembles the original source. It could be the work of a fellow student, for example, an answer on a quiz, data for a report, a paper or assignment completed by another student. It might be a paper purchased through one of the many available sources. Plagiarism does not refer to words alone- it can also refer to copying images, graphs, tables, and ideas. “Presentation” is not limited to written work. It also includes oral presentations, computer, assignment and artistic work. If you translate the work of another person into French or English and do not cite the source, this is also plagiarism.

2) Procrastination: It is the practice of carrying out less urgent tasks in preference to more urgent ones, or doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, and thus putting off impending tasks to a later time, sometimes to the “last minute” before the deadline.

3) Attendance: It is one of the main things to maintain. It’s not that, you get failed just because miss classes, you are also losing the various in-class activities, group work and course. Even for getting good grades, attending classes is very important.

Effect of bad grades on International students affect many other things of their life:
·         If you want to work-off campus then a SIN( social insurance number) is required, which is granted only, if you are passing every subject of the course.
·         If by any reason, you get failed, then you have to retake that subject, which costs you around 1400$. This amount is triple as the amount to be paid by domestic student and it is really hard to pay that much money.
·         In future, if you are planning to get PR, then also you need to be working in the field of study, which needs good grades.

So, maintaining good grades is very important
