Things that needs to be taken care off in Canada

Hello readers, we are back with some important information for international students. There are certain things in Canada that needs to be taken off before coming or after arrived.

1) Working- Working as student is very common thing and almost every student does that, as we also mention this in our last post. But, you should be aware of all the documents you guys need for working. As you are international students, several laws applies to you for working.

2) SIN - Social Insurance Number is compulsory for students to work in any part of Canada and working without it illegal and you can face the circumstances of  DEPORTATION! Only 20 hours per week, working, is allowed. So, don't go beyond that.

3) Misleading persons- There are several people, who may mislead you for their benefit. They can give you lot of alternatives to make money illegally, but never believe on them. Those type of people are just looking for new students. Always take suggestion from an advisor in college, which is free of cost.

4) College services and health- Always be informed about the whole bunch of services colleges are providing. You have several benefits from college including a medical insurance which allows you to get a free consultations from clinics. As we all heard, heath is wealth but in Canada it is totally true. You have to care yourself because no one is there for you.

5) Time management - Time is money and world runs on money. If you are successful in managing time here then your path of success is easier than others. Being a student, things are way much different and time consuming so, it's better to plan things.

Jobs for International Students

When students came to Canada from different country, they should know, that they have to carry lots of responsibilities and problems with them. As we already mention, they have to be very serious about their studies as their main objective to come to this country is only to study well and achieve good grades. Apart from this, to do a part time job with the studies is also very important for the international students to cover their living expenses. If the international student belongs to rich background, then they can survive easily and make lots of fun here. But the students who belongs to lower or middle income income families and whose parents send them either by taking loans or by selling their personal assets, its very hard for them to survive easily as they were in their home country. After arriving 1-2 months in this country, students should start finding part time jobs for them so that they can easily cover their living expenses and buy something which they like, so that they would not to be depend on their parents at least for their living expenses. But International students are always face difficulty to find a job because they don't have any connection with the employer and some students even don't know the employment system of this country. So its better for them to make links with other students who are familiar with the country system and persuade them to find a job.Apart from the study and living expenses, students should know that tuition fees of the Canadian colleges is very high as compared to domestic students. They should always keep in mind that, they have the responsibility to pay the fees of the upcoming semesters.

We are not encourage students to work full time or day and night to cover their full fees as well. They should always keep in mind the study they are pursuing, whether are performance is well or not. Some students feel that, the program they are pursuing is much easier as compared to their home country, due to this reason they worked more as compared to other students. But they should know that, they have to spend their money wisely or carefully. And to earn money is not at all easy whether in Canada or any other part of the world.

Good grades is important for international students

Hello guys, it’s very easy to take admission in any college in Canada but the real problem starts when you arrive and start taking classes. There are lot of things that are different here, in Canadian colleges, which makes it tough, but if you know about it then it is one of the easiest things. Several things that needs to be remember are:

1) Plagiarism: It is presenting someone else’s ides or work as your own with or without their consent, by incorporating into their work without full acknowledgement. This could be material copied word to word from journals, books, internet sites, professor’s course notes, etc. It could be material that is paraphrased but closely resembles the original source. It could be the work of a fellow student, for example, an answer on a quiz, data for a report, a paper or assignment completed by another student. It might be a paper purchased through one of the many available sources. Plagiarism does not refer to words alone- it can also refer to copying images, graphs, tables, and ideas. “Presentation” is not limited to written work. It also includes oral presentations, computer, assignment and artistic work. If you translate the work of another person into French or English and do not cite the source, this is also plagiarism.

2) Procrastination: It is the practice of carrying out less urgent tasks in preference to more urgent ones, or doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, and thus putting off impending tasks to a later time, sometimes to the “last minute” before the deadline.

3) Attendance: It is one of the main things to maintain. It’s not that, you get failed just because miss classes, you are also losing the various in-class activities, group work and course. Even for getting good grades, attending classes is very important.

Effect of bad grades on International students affect many other things of their life:
·         If you want to work-off campus then a SIN( social insurance number) is required, which is granted only, if you are passing every subject of the course.
·         If by any reason, you get failed, then you have to retake that subject, which costs you around 1400$. This amount is triple as the amount to be paid by domestic student and it is really hard to pay that much money.
·         In future, if you are planning to get PR, then also you need to be working in the field of study, which needs good grades.

So, maintaining good grades is very important
